Inspirational thoughts

When blue moon walks winter wonderland of ice and frost ... and all seems lost, as crisp underfoot a new fall of snow covers all trace of the way we should go, don't be downcast.

Look to the stars and the heavens above - they echo eternity, whisper of love - love you can trust.

By flicker of candlelight you have cried in vain, as your wings were singed by the pain of flame. Live a life of verse (harmony), not that of a curse - the two are not the same.
-An Analogy by Lavinda de Rossi

I have walked alone seeking answers I have lived alone chasing dreams
I have tried to prove my worth to worthless judgesI have cried my pain in silent screams
I have sometimes been served a touch a kindnessI have wandered in golden fields of Grace
I have been released by honest laughter I have touched the Western Wall of the Holy place
I have soared alone above the cloud headsI have walked the deep dark tunnels of earth
I have dined with mystics and with prophets I have heard the pain of woman giving birth
I have been sought after as a teacher I have been refused the laurel wreath
I have heard the thunder blast of sunrise I have watched the final touch of death
I have played the rules set by the master Though often I didn’t understand the game
I have worn more masks than I can remember I have been a face without a name
And which like you I ask the final questionWho on earth am I supposed to be
I always come full circle to the answer, me, only me…always me.    -- Leonard Nimoy

ARISTIDES, born around 500 BC - a Greek, was an Athenian statesman and miliary expert. They nicknamed him, Aristides, the Just. Aristides left us an account of his encounters with a god of healing (today’s understanding would mean a higher soul).

"It was like seeming to touch him, a kind of awareness that he was there, in person, one was between sleeping and waking, one wanted to open one's eyes and yet was anxious lest he should withdraw too soon; one listened and heard things, sometimes as in a dream, sometimes as in waking life; one's hair stood on end; one cried and felt happy: one's head swelled but not with vain glory."

For years, English philosopher, A. J. Ayer, an atheist, was a strident critic of all things metaphysical - until… 1988, when admitted to hospital with pneumonia, he choked on some food, suffered cardiac arrest and was technically dead for four minutes. "What I Saw When I Was Dead," he wrote, when he described seeing 'higher beings' as he attempted to cross a river and was drawn towards a distant light.
